Browsing & Filters
Each shop page lets you filter by category, size, era, and price. There's one quirk worth knowing about the filter behaviour — covered just below.
Filters appear above the product grid on every collection and shop page. Click a category, size, or era to apply it — filtered results update immediately. To remove a single filter, click it again. To clear everything, use the Clear All link.
Search
The search icon in the header opens a free-text search across the full catalogue. Search matches against item names, era, material, and brand. Searching for “wool” will surface every wool piece across every category; searching for “Wrangler” will find vintage Wranglers regardless of which collection they sit in.

Cart & Checkout
Adding to cart, holding an item briefly while you decide, and checking out with the payment method that suits you best.
Adding Items
Click Add to Cart on any product page to add it to your cart. Items remain in your cart for the duration of your session — closing the tab or signing out will preserve them if you're logged in, but not if you're browsing as a guest. We recommend creating an account if you tend to shop across multiple sessions.
Items in your cart are not reserved. Because every piece is one-of-a-kind, another shopper can purchase an item that's currently sitting in your cart. The first checkout wins. If a piece is calling to you, the safest move is to check out promptly.
Payment Methods
Checkout is powered by Shopify, which means your payment options include all the methods Shopify supports — Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and standard debit and credit card processing (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover).
Shop Pay and Apple Pay are typically the quickest paths through checkout if you have either set up. Card details are handled by Shopify directly — we never see or store payment information.

Shipping & Returns
Standard shipping on every order. Free on orders over $200. All sales final.
Shipping
All orders ship via standard ground shipping within the continental United States. Orders typically ship within 1–2 business days of purchase, and delivery generally takes 3–7 business days depending on destination. Tracking information is sent automatically once your label is generated.
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on the weight and destination of your order. Orders totalling $200 or more ship free.

How Inventory Works
The shop runs on Shopify with automated inventory syncing — what's on the site is what's actually available, in real time.
Almost every item in the shop is one-of-a-kind. When a piece sells, our inventory system automatically removes it from the shop within seconds — you'll never see an item listed as “available” that's already been purchased by someone else. Occasionally we'll have multiple sizes of a single design (mostly with t-shirts and accessories), and those are tracked individually by size.
New Arrivals
We add new pieces to the shop weekly. Each piece is sourced, photographed, measured, and described by hand before it goes live. The cadence varies depending on what we've found, but expect a fresh batch every Thursday or Friday.
Holds & Waitlists
We don't currently offer holds on items — the cart-is-not-a- reservation rule applies to everyone. We also don't keep waitlists, since most pieces don't have a second version coming. The best way to be first to new arrivals is to follow @frenchgirlvint on Instagram, where new pieces are often previewed before they hit the site.

Our Commitment to Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to shop comfortably — regardless of how they navigate the web.
The site is built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines. That includes proper colour contrast in both light and dark modes, keyboard-navigable menus and forms, alt text on every product photograph, focus indicators on every interactive element, and support for screen readers.
We test the shop regularly with VoiceOver, NVDA, and keyboard- only navigation, and we treat accessibility issues as bugs rather than enhancements. If you encounter something on the site that isn't working for you, we want to know — please reach out and we'll address it.
Reduced Motion
The site honours the prefers-reduced-motion system
setting. If you've turned reduced motion on at the OS level, the
loading animation, video backgrounds, and scroll-driven reveals
will all be disabled or simplified automatically.
Dark Mode
The shop offers a manual dark-mode toggle in the header for users who prefer it. Dark mode is fully supported across every page and component, and contrast ratios in dark mode meet the same AA standards as light mode.
